Bonze
After being featured on BBC Introducing London, Bonze has come out with his song Jenny (Can You Hear Me?). The tune is an unapologetic love song that was written in a shed in two hours, and was publicly released on the 12th. This single is one of many songs that are apart of the album that is being set to release in 2022.
I enjoy because of the mix of electronic pop and synth/dream pop, it reminds me of a mix of Glass Animals and Telemarkk. His music is great for fans of Glass Animals, Slenderbodies, Atlas Genius, and other similar musicians.
Sienna
Sienna is comprised of singer Daniel Roberts, guitarist George Broadhurst, bassist Taylor Asbridge, and drummer Rabbie McAdam-Duff. They’ve seen success with playing headline shows and multiple BBC air play. Barroom Brawls’ chaotic lyrics echoes the quick riffs that were squeezed into this 3 and half minute song.
Sienna has certainly matched up to their Arctic Monkeys and Royal Blood influences in this intense and certain-mosh-pit-starter song. This song is perfect for fans of the early Arctic Monkeys, and other UK 2000’s bands.
Emmrose
Partially inspired by the video game “Among Us”, imposter is about Imposter Syndrome and the way people think everyone eventually finds out that are a fraud. It’s a complex song, but overall it sheds light on how dangerous overconfidence is, and as well as having no confidence is. Emm hopes this song can help people that struggle with their self-worth in one way or the other.
Emmrose really sounds vulnerable in this song, and tells a great story at the same time. Emmrose would appeal to fans of Cloe Wilder, Lana Del Ray, and others of the likes.
Sophia
Sophia has been called an artist to watch by BBC Introducing in the North East for 2021. Her humble and emotional brand of pop sparks a captivating style that has sparked the imagination of her growing fan base. Stay explores the confusion of a certain feeling when in a situation you never want to leave and stay in forever.
Stay is a great electronic and alternative pop song that is anthemic and has wonderful vocals. Sophia would appeal to fans of Moodbay, MisterWives, and Matilda Mann.
Wild Tibetan Monks
Wild Tibetan Monks are a Dublin based alt-rock band has recently released their song Lying Next to You. The song is about lying in not telling the truth, rather than physically lying next to someone. The conflicting feelings reflect what you feel after lying to someone you want to tell the truth to.
The live instruments really expose the acoustic honesty and regret in the song, making you feel the hurt and pain behind what the person feels in the song. Wild Tibetan Monks would resonate with fans of Pavement and other musicians of the likes.
Slowride
Slowride has worked with Greenmount (Ellie Goulding) and Isaac Carpenter (Awolnation) for their previous debut single I Feel Like You that spiked the interest of bloggers, playlisters, and curators globally. Forever In My Head is their melodic/alternative sound that hopes to garner just as much interest.
This is a great song that reminds me a lot of Twenty One Pilots and Foster the People. This is a great band for fans of Robert DeLong, Twenty One Pilots, Foster the People, and Death Cab for Cutie.
Nana M. Rose
The beautiful Nana M. Rose is excited to come out with her lead single from her upcoming EP (due to be released in May), Sweet Honey. The song captures the feeling of being in love, this being a bit different to her previous releases.
This song is a perfect introduction to the spring in a light-hearted and dreamy way, so I will gladly feel free to play it through my window when it is released on the 26th. This lovely musician is great for fans of Kate Bush, Nick Drake, and dreamy music.
Liza Weald
The majestic sound of The Hologram comes from Liza Weald, a Netherland musician who has won a Rotterdam Music Award in November. The song is set to be released on the 26th, but has already released two new songs this year.
I was really excited to review this wonderful piece of work, because it reminds me a lot of what it would sound like if the Fleet Foxes had female lead singer. This indie folk musician would appeal to fans of Bear’s Den, The Oh Hello’s, Ben Howard, and Fleet Foxes.
Trent-Jean
One of the fastest accomplished musical groups to emerge from the Australian music scene in 2020 has recently released their song B4IDie, a story of how Trent-Jean got kidnaped by a woman.
The song is full of bada$$ energy, and is made for our playlists like Rock and Fuel. This is a great band for fans of Cleopatrick, Badflower, and other modern rock bands.
