Moon Walker | Light Burns Out

Moon Walker

Editorial

It’s hard to imagine what it was like living during The Great Depression, even though us as a nation had just went through a pandemic that has wiped out more than 5.8K small businesses, over 628K Americans, and has driven over 44K to take their own life.

Yes, every song Moon Walker has released up to this release has been a criticism of USA… But even the angriest need to calm down at the end of the day.

Light Burns Out is that step back for Moon Walker, a realization that we are heading towards a financial Great Depression. And if we aren’t careful, a divided nation will be that anchor pulling us down.

Who is Moon Walker?

Moon Walker is made up of Harry Springer (vocals/guitar) and Sean McCarthy (drums), high school friends from Colorado who have been playing together ever since they met. All their music is produced, mixed, and engineered by Harry in the band’s apartment.

Both are successful musicians who have toured and performed in front of as many as 20k people as The Midnight Club, they’ve shared the stage with incredible musicians like Young The Giant, Cage the Elephant, and others.

Apart from their band, Harry and Sean are active musicians and composers for other projects as well.

Light Burns Out by Moon Walker Review

The song is part scathing criticism, and part heartfelt plea. This is not the country that my schooling taught me it was. Our history is not as it was presented to me. Keeping people in the dark does us no good. We need to open our eyes and make a conscious
effort to progress as a society.

Moon Walker (press release)

It’s hard to not like the message in the song, because it is true that we are a divided nation that needs to find common ground.

The song itself is like a Cage the Elephant rendition of Billy Joel, it’s anthemic and nonapologetic.

I find the combinations interesting, and well played by the duo as it works perfectly for their individual sound. The fact that they have already garnered over 81k views on YouTube in 12 days is therefore not surprising to me.
