Penner

Penner came out with her third single of the year, I Think I’m Haunted, on February 6th. Delicately balancing sadness and optimism, Penner wrote the timid exploration of feelings of hope and love that was written and recorded during the pandemic.

I love the hauntingness of the song, and the lullaby melody makes you want to sway along with the song. Penner voice is so unique, and is so perfect for this song. It definitely deserves to be in a psychological thriller.

Savanna Blu

Singer-songwriter and performer Savanna Blu is coming out with her newest single, Something to Cry About, on the 25th of February. The song throws some hard truths surrounding love in this new single, the first she’s come out with in over 6 months.

This such vulnerable song for such a young girl at 18. The vulnerability doesn’t only deliver it’s own punch, the feelings and emotions behind the song throw in their own punches as well.

Jack Demeo

LA-native Jack Demeo recently released his newest track, Coyotes, on January 13th. The single is a special one to Jack, mainly about trying to find a place in the world.

WHY ISN’T THIS DUDE BIGGER THAN HE ACTUALLY IS?! Like seriously his music is so good, but like he deserves more recognition. I guess you just got to follow on all my socials and subscribe to this website to see what I can do for him ;).

Moon Walker

Guitarist/vocalist Harry Springer and drummer Sean McCarthy of Moon Walker are coming out with their newest single, Doombox, on February 25th. The single represents whatever destructive thing you find comfort in.

Hard hitting is the name of the game for Moon Walker, and you already know that if you’ve read past reviews of them from me. This is honestly my favorite song I’ve heard from Harry and Sean, and I want to encourage them to continue to be creative and bad a$$.

5ON5

5ON5 released their newest song, Don’t Dance, on the 7th of January. The song is a sneaky dance song that gives you cozy feelings. The song already 300 in the German radio charts.

This song is so techno, a new song I made up in my own brain. It quite literally brings you back to the disco days, which you won’t find too many songs like these days.

Eva Snyder

Nashville native Eva Snyder came out with her new single Boy, Cry on the 4th. The single displays a lighter and more honest side of Eva, talking about a break up that both him and Eva never wanted to happen.

After being single for 4 years, I very much know what heartbreak means… And this is the perfect example. I love this and really appreciate Eva’s vulnerability in this song.

Only Bricks

Only Bricks

Santa Monica native indie pop duo Only Bricks came out Smile, It’s Over:) on January 27th. Corporate America sucks, and this song bids farewell to vocalists Anne DiGiovanni’s last day stuck in her cubicle.

What a plot twist, I initially thought this was a break-up-with-a-toxic-ex song! I struggled with finding my ideal job as well, and I am happy to say I have found it. This song definitely gives me a new perspective in musical meanings overall.

Arin | Anything

Arin

Editorial

When thinking of Lauv, one can think of various types of songs such as I Like Me Better, Feelings, Fake, and so many other Lauv songs.

One doesn’t actually think of who Lauv is, he is actually a 27 year old singer, songwriter, and producer. His real name is Ari Staprans Leff. And he is open about his mental health struggles, and donates proceeds from his songs to mental health organizations in hopes to erase the stigma around mental health.

In short, when thinking of who Lauv really is, we should also think of My Blue Thoughts

Arin is an independent musician who recently debuted his new EP Anything. He produces and records all of his tracks with his housemates. When listening to the EP, I and probably you can hear the Lauv comparisons.

So say this Arin dude makes it big like Lauv, lets not forget who Arin really is. Don’t just think of him as a great musician, think of him as a human being as well.

F**k it, let’s not forget who everyone you know really is.

Who is Arin?

Arin is a singer-songwriter based in London, United Kingdom. His main influences include Lauv, LANY, and Jeremy Zucker.

Arin recently released his newest EP Anything on January 14th. Anything is about relationships and the certain emotions in terms of those relationships. The album is produced and recorded with Arin’s two housemates.

Anything by Arin Review

I don’t have any criticism about the EP, and in fact I think Arin and his housemates made a great production from start to finish!

One thing I would like to see is a more expanded sound. With this EP, Arin has certainly established his Lauv influences and now I would like to see him take that influence and expand his sound into his other. Lauv is certainly a pop influence for instance, and now I would like to hear how he can tie his Jeremy Zucker and LANY influences into future releases.

At this moment, Arin is focusing on promoting the new EP. For all future releases, I encourage you to like and follow the links below to stay up to date.

Editorial

The song’s music video shows the band’s perseverance as they face harassment from a herd of oranges, which finally leads to a flurry of citrus-directed violence. Whether this is a metaphor for anything more significant or just a remark about the band’s least favorite fruit, it makes for a fascinating companion piece to the tune.

Who is Smallpools?

Smallpools is a 2013-formed American indie pop artists that specializes in synthpop. Aside from Sean Scanlon, Mike Kamerman, and Beau Kuther, members of the band include: Mike Kamerman, from Marlboro, New Jersey, and Sean Scanlon, from Verplanck, New York, have been performing in different bands since 2007, and their first song, “Dreaming” peaked at number one on The Hype list. After migrating to Los Angeles to advance their musical careers, they met Joe Intile and Beau Kuther, born and raised in Oregon. The band, who collaborated with the producer duo Captain Cuts, published their first song, Dreaming, on the internet. The song was published as the group’s first single after the release of their first album. It was featured on the FIFA 14 soundtrack as the song Dreaming. Aside from that, the band has performed twice at Firefly Music Festival, drawing big and enthusiastic audiences in both 2014 and 2018 performances. Smallpools went on two sold-out headline tours in 2015 in support of their RCA debut album ‘LOVETAP!’. The LOVETAP! Tour and The American Love Tour were both sold out. On their ‘Connect the Dots’ tour in 2017, Smallpools toured alongside MisterWives, and in 2018, they co-headlined the ‘Spring has Sprung’ tour with Great Good Fine Ok and Great Good Fine Ok. On their ‘So Social’ tour, Smallpools played to packed houses at venues such as the 930 Club in Washington, DC, the Bowery Ballroom in New York City, and the Bluebird Theater in Denver in 2019. Smallpools wrapped out the year by opening for Third Eye Blind on their “Screamer” tour in support of the band.

Smallpools’ path has been a difficult one. The band first signed with RCA, but Scanlon and his comrades felt that they were not given the creative freedom they desired. The band soon signed a contract with the “artist-friendly” company Kobalt Music Group, with whom they released many singles and a handful of EPs. Smallpools’ sophomore album, Life in a Simulation, was released independently and is the band’s first to do so. The quality of the band’s music, on the other hand, has not decreased since they left RCA. Some of Smallpools’ most famous songs, such as fan-favorite “Passenger Side” and “Million Bucks,” which has had over 44 million listens on Spotify, were written soon following the band’s departure from the label. Smallpools’ composition approach is very collaborative and entirely in shared studio sessions with its collaborators. The band members have discovered that they are better off composing together than they are writing alone. The band incorporates all of their life experiences into their music to get the most authentic sound possible. In all the ups and downs of the band’s path to becoming the recognized indie-pop group today, Smallpools has managed to maintain its composure.

Life of the Party by Smallpools Review

Smallpools, a Nashville indie rock band, released their joyful song “Life of the Party” to a rousing response from its followers at the beginning of June. It follows their most recent song, “Science Fiction,” and it serves as an excellent preview of their forthcoming second studio album, Life in a Simulation, released on October 15. Although the song’s distinctive indie-rock guitar riffs are layered over snappy electronic rhythms, the song’s lyrics are about paranoia and a romance gone wrong. “Life of the Party” results from the creativity that can blossom even in the most trying of circumstances. In this particular case, the tornado occurred in March 2020, which was followed by the COVID-19 quarantine. With the title “Life of the Party,” this alt-rock hit screams “summer is here!” and is bursting with the group’s distinctive electro-pop infused melodies and addictive soundscapes that have become synonymous with them.

The new tune Life of the Party, on the other hand, is the one that Scanlon is most thrilled to perform live. He believes it can do the band’s first-ever hit song, “Dreaming,” in terms of commercial success. Two topics on the minds of Smallpools members during a recording session are how their songs will translate live and how they will serve as the soundtrack to their listeners’ daily lives. In order to make people’s days better or to help them get through difficult times, Scanlon and his bandmates attempt to produce music that does just that.

What’s Next for Smallpools?

The band has also announced their upcoming national US Tour Dates. Make sure to like and follow the pages listed below to get notifications of any new changes or music announcements that may be made.

Cleveland pop singer-songwriter Cat Calabrese came out with her 7th single in 2 years, Mine. Cat started her solo music career as a way to regain her power and begin fighting back against her trauma in a healing way

This a powerful song that definitely stretches Cat’s vocal range, that she certainly conquers. Her drive to make music in a therapeutic manner is inspiring, especially to me.

Detroit-based producer and singer-songwriter Callaghan Belle released her new song Strings today. This extremely talented songwriter has also wrote with musicians like Jojo, Colbie Caillat, and more.

I absolutely love this song! This song is authentic and unique. I feel like many people can relate to the song allot since it’s about moving on from toxic relationships, which many people like me have come out of.

Vocalist Sonja Midtune has released her live track October on January 14th. The live track features Justin Glasco on piano and Brandon Walters playing the electric guitar.

If the name Brandon Walters sparks interest, then I’m guessing you’re a Lord Huron fan. For those who don’t know what I mean, well Brandon is the guitarist for Lord Huron. Besides this, this song is beautiful and although I don’t usually talk write about live tracks, I knew I had to for this one.

Yon Idy

Yon Idy

Macedonian singer-songwriter Yon Idy came out with his new song In Time on January 11th. Idy has been surrounded by music all his life in his hometown of Skopje, pulling influences from Muse, The Beatles, and Leonard Cohen.

I like the wonderful voice encaptured by Yon, and I want to listen to more of his music. I can clearly hear the Beatles influence, and that’s something hard to find now a days.

London-based singer-songwriter Francesca Guerra came out with her new single Summer on January 14th. Originally based in Rome, this is the first of single of a series that were written during the 2020 lockdown. It is about feeling lonely.

This ambient-toned dream-pop style song is complex, just like it’s meaning which is definitely more than about feeling lonely. Lockdown was hard for everyone, especially Francesca and it is felt in this song.

Lindsey Ferguson | Being a Girl

Editorial

“I feel depressed.”

The three words I find myself saying a lot during these days of a worldwide pandemic. I know I said them before the pandemic, but just not to the extent when isolated from society.

“I feel anxious.”

The other three words when I find myself thinking about things going back to normal. It’s almost like a fear that our society will go from 0 to 100 and back to 0.

But no matter what happens, I always come back to those five words…

“I’m listening to my music.”

Who is Lindsey Ferguson?

Lindsey is a 26 year-old singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles who produces her songs all organically. Born in Pennsylvania, she is also a filmmaker and painter. Lindsey went to NYU Steinhardt where she did get to finish her master’s in Music Business because of the 2020 pandemic. She then decided to travel to LA to live with her now fiance, Jordan Plotner.

Lindsey has released several singles, played in Tileyard Studios in London, Rockwood Music Hall, and other venues. However, Being a Girl is her first most significant release to date. This album is a collection of intimate moments through 2018-2021. The album also highlights moments including living with her parents, having her heart broken, and coming to terms with be diagnosed with clinical anxiety and depression.

Being a Girl by Lindsey Ferguson Summary

As I am writing this, I am watching TV with my Dad. I tend to listen to music that I am reviewing, but for this I do not have to. Being a Girl is like listening to the great singers in First Aid Kit in that way, you just don’t forget the feeling you get when listening to every song.

I also think that a great song feels like it goes on for twice as many minutes. For instance, Silk and Satin Take Manhattan is a 2:24 minute long song, but I feel like it lasted at least 4:48 minutes long.

Same for Bad Coffee…

And same for the whole album.

For right now, Lindsey is focusing on advertising her new album which is set to be released on the 14th. I implore you to make sure you click and like the links below to stay up to date!

Like Lindsey, I also use music as one of my driving forces to combat my mental health with anxiety and depression that I have struggled with most of my life, and I truly believe that’s why music is a thing to begin with. I hope you follow and like the links below to stay up to date with Lindsey’s progress.

It feels lovely to share my love for this kind of music. Moreover, to establish that you are a fan of the band’s work, you must know all you can about them, including their musical preferences and coordination. According to the 5ON5, their music is “a little different, a little naughty, and a little bit different.” Their music reflects their upbeat demeanor, and the lyrics are genuine and relatable to their listeners. With each new interaction with musicians of all types in the music industry, it becomes more evident that today’s music is unlike anything heard by any previous generation.

Who is 5on5?

Young Berlin music project 5on5, consists of four musicians that have come together to create something magical. The group is made up of two vocalists (Max and Yumin) and two rappers (Maxx and $inan).

Their influences consist of hip-hop and pop music that draws together the musical influences of all four group members.

Runaway by 5on5 Review

Max and $INAN have been developing songs for their new EP for the last year, which the trio then gathered together to record. The first single is “Runaway,” a ‘maxi-single’ that includes both the original version and a special party remix. Steve van Velvet produced the drums, while Hansol Cho played the keyboard. Jeson Huang mixed and mastered both songs.

The music is positively catchy, with a fantastic up-tempo rhythm that falls in between dubstep and EDM, while the beat forces our hips to move. The tune begins with a basic piano motif, followed by a dominating pulsing bass line that establishes the track’s foundation. 5ON5 progressively overlays a rich palette of swirling synthesizers, gorgeous piano notes, sharp percussion, and edgy surf guitars throughout the song, creating an appealing world immersed in vibrant textures and sounds.

However, as impressive as the instruments are, the four members’ diverse voices and lovely harmonies are the true highlights. Max’s reverberated vocals are generally performed in a higher range just below a falsetto, giving his lines an enigmatic, even extraterrestrial feel. $INAN mumbles his lines, then sings the chorus, “Would you run away from me, away with me, away with me, would you go away now?” in near-perfect harmony with Max, Yumin, and Maxx B.

With “Runaway,” they explore a fusion of genres. The music is carried along by its catchy, joyful rhythm. The genre-blending, including pop, EDM, hip-hop, and indie rock, results in a sound that defies simple description. The vocal treatment contributes to the song’s neon-hued magnificence, with the minute complex elements seeming positively joyful to witness. Everything has a soft futuristic feel since the song’s chaotic, unpredictable nature ensures that nothing stays steady for an extended period.

The song does not spend any time getting started, as the tune begins to move immediately. Numerous embellishments join the melee, sometimes evoking the thoughtfulness of the Postal Service’s equally happy production. Like their production, 5ON5 ensures that it all comes together in a crazy ecstatic manner, as it is brimming with vitality. The voyage, which is full of unexpected twists and turns, has an aura of authority due to how it washes over the listener. The lyrics are well crafted, and the beauty of his word choice lends an air of warmth and welcome to the whole. It seems to rupture at the seams throughout the piece. They conclude the EP with an inventive party mix that ends on a jubilant note.

“Runaway” demonstrates 5ON5’s incredible ability to create hooks from various techniques,

culminating in a distinctive voice. The fascinating animated movie depicts the band members wandering through terrain at different times of day and night, evading danger and eventually emerging free and into the light.

What’s Next for 5on5?

After their recent release of Runaway, it is unknown what is next for 5on5. But that doesn’t mean they’re done… In fact, they are just getting started.

Howe

Howe

Sacramento-based singer-songwriter Chayanne Ledbetter (Howe) will be coming out with her song Wash Rinse Repeat on New Years Eve 2021. The electro-pop song made with Sacramento producer HERO is her 5th single about feeling stuck.

This song is hard to explain without mentioning Lorde. The vocals for instance, it really sounds like you’re listening to Lorde song. But it also reminds me of Lana Del Ray, I like it it’s a little trippy.

Cartinglee

Rachelle Barr (Cartinglee)

Ooltewah-based singer-songwriter Rachelle Barr (Cartinglee) came out with her debut single Star/Dust on November 11th. The single is about exploring the line between anxiety and healing in the wake of a difficult experience.

I love Rachelle’s voice, it’s powerful. I find this song to be almost like a ballad. I don’t really think that the folk rock pop genre fits this delicate song, I would say it’s more of a soft rock ballad.

Julie Tuzet

Julie Tuzet

Paris-based model and singer Julie Tuzet came out with her inspirational song Create on November 19th. This song is a high vibe that uplifts spirits and re-energizes listeners.

I like the energy in the song, it uplifts my spirits. I don’t usually do trip-hop songs, but this song is different and really inspired me to want to feature Julie. I hope you like her too and feel uplifted when listening to this song.

Sabreen Islam

Auckland-based Sabreen Islam came out with her fifth single Like A Movie on December 11th. Co-produced with Will Henderson the song was chosen as a semi-finalist for the International Songwriting Competition 2020.

I really like this song, it’s got the creativity of Sasha Sloan and Mallrat but in a bedroom pop style. I am pretty sure Sabreen is the first musician I have heard from New Zealand, and I really hope it won’t be the last. I would love to hear more like this song.

Midnight Run

Midnight Run
Credit: Ant Axten

London-based folk rock pop duo Midnight Run came out with their new single Winter Romance on December 15th. The duo consist of Jacob Elwy (North Wales) and Jonny Mac (Liverpool).

I love the acoustic feel to the song, and the backed with Scottish-like vocals. It’s great for pubs, which the band was formed above one. I can definitely see this in a Game of Thrones episode.

Lydia Briggs

Lydia Briggs

Cleveland-based singer-songwriter Lydia Briggs came out with her single Fall Back to You on December 10th. This dark anachronistic pop song is empowering single that brings captures the attention of her growing audience.

This song is undoubtedly the one song that perfectly explains the state of the world politically and socially. We are all fighting for something, and we so desperately want the new normal to be something better than the old normal.

Hawk and the Wild

Jimmy Witfalk
Credit: Ida Witfalk

Swedish-based Jimmy Witfalk (Hawk and the Wild) came out with Aral Sea on November 11th. The song is about the Aral sea, the sea that disappeared in Southern Russia.

If Jimmy’s name sounds familiar, then I am happy that you stuck around for so long! I have reviewed Hawk and the Wild years ago, but this is by far my favorite single Jimmy’s released. The acoustics are crisp and I really like the story telling in this song as well.

Leah Kate, a native of Los Angeles, California, was raised by her music-loving family and started singing at five. She is an upcoming artist in the USA for 2021 who practically runs her label from her bedroom. Leah is a true-blue go-getter who, and besides being her manager and creative director, she is also label head, publicist, marketing strategist, and artist.

Leah began releasing music regularly and professionally when she lost her job while living in New York, even though she’s been singing and writing songs since a very young age. Listeners describe her music as a retro electronic sound with a passionate vibe filled with hope and a fusion of the 90s and the 2020s. The music she produces reflects her “IDGAF” attitude, and the lyrics are incredibly relatable, as well as being upbeat disco and featuring oldies’ influences.

Who is Leah Kate?

As a young female pop singer, Kate had to deal with the same problem as most young artists: how to get the attention of a broad audience without the financial support of a billion-dollar label? Fortunately, TikTok music in 2021 was the obvious answer to that question. As she did with music production, she began messaging popular TikTok creators every day and asking them to make videos with her song, and she never stopped posting her clips on the platform every day. Ohanian saw “Fuck Up the Friendship” and called it a hit hiding in plain sight. He facilitated his deal with Kate through Indify, a platform that allows partners to communicate without ever leaving the platform.

In February 2020, She released another song, “Boyfriend,” which was a follow-up on her banger, Fuck Up the Friendship (FUTF). The song is about the story of a young woman who has successfully moved on from a failed relationship. Even though she now has a new boyfriend, her ex still hopes to win her back. She has, however, moved on from him, his drama, and whatever they once had together. In her words, “boyfriend” is intended to empower girls and guys to break free from toxic relationships and stop recycling exes who aren’t good for them.

Leah Kate Review

In February 2020, She released another song, “Boyfriend,” which was a follow-up on her banger, fuck up the friendship (FUTF). The song is about the story of a young woman who has successfully moved on from a failed relationship. Even though she now has a new boyfriend, her ex still hopes to win her back. She has, however, moved on from him, his drama, and whatever they once had together. In her words, “boyfriend” is intended to empower girls and guys to break free from toxic relationships and stop recycling exes who aren’t good for them.

From the very start, “Boyfriend” exudes a brash vibe with attitude, a bold and funky track that immediately draws you in with its playful production. She turns her troubles about having a boyfriend into a refreshing and catchy dance floor hit by focusing on the line, “I have a boyfriend now; it’s a little late to talk this out.”

The dynamic production of “Boyfriend” is blended with a 90’s twist to deliver delightful ear candy. It is a fun, evocative pop song at its finest with Leah’s dramatic and intoxicating vocals. Her lessons from her own life and thoughts encourage her to practice self-love. This track continues the story of how Leah Kate messed up her friendship with a guy she talked about in “Fuck Up The Friendship.” The guy is now her boyfriend. In her own words, “I was shocked to see how many guys/exes came running back once we started dating and when they came running back, they realized it was too late.” Incorporating Leah Kate’s trademark addictive vocals and a myriad of dance soundscapes, “Boyfriend” is the perfect sequel.

What’s Next for Leah Kate?

Recently, she released an anthem for those who have recently broken up, “Veronica,” but it has a twist! Affirming the feminist value of solidarity and empowerment alongside the “other woman,” the song flips the cheater and another woman paradigm on its head. She describes her night out when she discovers that her boyfriend has cheated on her in the music. Her vocals demonstrate the power of girl power as she sings, “thank you for the new best friend.” She implies that Veronica will be her friend in the future with the repeated line, “she seems like a keeper, maybe I’ll keep her.”

She has created a hooky single that everyone will love with blunt lyricism and catchy melodies. According to her team, the song is “the perfect summer anthem to groove to while kicking all of the manchildren out of our lives.”

Right now there’s no known releases, but make sure you follow and like the links below to stay up to date with her.

Corinna Jane came out with her most recent pop-rock EP, Queen of Wands, on November 5th. This EP was recorded and produced in Rome with help from Francesco Arpino.

I love the piano pop, which is probably the best way to describe these tracks. I love Corinna’s voice in these songs, it is very original and unique. I would recommend her tracks to fans of modern pop country.

Iuliano

On the Radio (2021) by Iuliano

Critically acclaimed Italian producer Iuliano came out with their newest single, On The Radio, on October 15th. On the Radio is his first single off his upcoming EP, De-Algorithm.

This a great 80’s indie pop throwback track, I love the production that is elusive and sonically unique to Iuliano. This is great for fans of Radiohead, and any sonic indie pop band from the 1980’s.

Not too hard to see why this song was placed so high on a UK iTunes chart, it’s got good production and a beautiful voice that compliments everything. This song is great for fans of Fiona Apple, and any great female singer like Fiona.

After the successful release of their debut album, Truth to Power, Moon Walker come out with their newest single, The Hollywood Machine, also on December 10th. Los Angeles based duo expand on their groovy blues rock that helped them gain attention worldwide.

These guys are unstoppable, I love the faded lyrics mixed with upfront and catchy vocals. This is probably their best single so far, and would attract any garage rock fan.

Foxxglove has recently released her 3rd single, High on Hope, on December 10th. The Cardiff musician returns to the music scene with a more positive and upbeat alt-pop rock track that will close out her releases of 2021.

What a talent, it’s clear to me that Foxx is a musician to watch. Great for fans of Lana Del Rey, this song deserves the attention of millions of listeners across the world.

NYC singer-songwriter and ex-corporate worker Blair West has recently released her debut EP All this to Say. This uplifting tear-jerking love letter was written after a dream, and has seen success on YouTube with over 10k views.

UK producer dwowdo came out with Save Me on the 10th. In their words, the song is about “not wanting people to see you upset but at the same time wanting to be saved”.

I love this song and it’s message, it’s unique and well produced. This probably my favorite song of the bunch, great for fans of dark pop.

Priya Francis

Priya Francis

Melbourne singer-songwriter Priya Francis came out with Swimming on November 26th. Similarly to Save Me, Swimming talks about wanting someone to look after her but also wanting to be alone and independent.

I’ve always had a weak spot for Australian talent, and Priya is no different. Perfect for fans of pop female musicians like Alessia Cara, I think this song right up their with one of my favorite songs this year.

Julius Frank

Julius Frank

Swedish musician Julius Frank has recently released his newest album Elsinore on 7/3/2021. With a pair of SM57’s amplifier and an old tape recorder, the raw and honest debut album was made over many years.

Sometimes you just need honest and raw music that is good for the soul, and that’s exactly what Julius provides in this album. Great for fans of Tom Wait, Tallest Man on Earth, and other folk artists of the such.

Ally Cribb

Bigger (2021) by Ally Cribb

Canadian singer-songwriter released Bigger on the 10th. Ally wrote the song thinking about the things she wanted to accomplish in her life, and the want to fulfill her dreams.

This song is my new motto, it’s a really uplifting and powerful song that will lift anyones spirits. This song is great for fans of uplifting pop music.

Mia Mormino

The wonderful Mia Mormino has released another single from her Seven Deadly Sin-gles, this one is Building Blocks. This single focuses on the sin of Sloth, a dark and spooky song that is sure to grab the attention of anyone who is attracted to the haunting cover art and vocals.

This is another great campfire song, especially for Halloween. I love how Mia paints a scene in all of her songs, and this song is just another cinematic masterpiece. Great for fans of cinematic music, and artist of the likes.

Flowerbabe

Flowerbabe

Chicago based Flowerbabe released their new single The Moon on November 11th. Flowerbabe is creates and produces all of his songs from scratch, and says this is his favorite single so far.

This is yet another great 80’s throwback track, Flowerbabe is a great talent for making this straight from scratch. Prior to this song I have yet to here dream pop mixed with bedroom pop, and I will say I love the mix.

Who is Jennalyn?

21-year old singer-songwriter, actress, and model Jennalyn from the state of Seattle has been releasing music independently as a teen when she moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. Prior to this, she sung at church performances at age 4 and began recording in studio at age 13.

After not releasing new music since 2017, Jennalyn released her new EP Blade on November 30th, 2021.

Blade by Jennalyn Review

Looking at Jennalyn’s album art and press photos, there’s a heavy feel of the HBO Series Game of Thrones in it. I always admired that kind of theme in medieval music, and I will admit that medieval themes are my weakness. The rawness is just beautiful.

Going along with the visual theme, some of the songs on this fantastic EP sound like it would be perfect for the HBO Series Game of Thrones. This is also very diverse medieval sound; Cruel sounds like a Halsey song, These Lights sounds like a Lorde song, and Famous is like a Harley Huke song. All-in-all probably some of the coolest music you’ll find from the year of 2021!

I honestly like every track, it’s well produced and I can’t wait to hear, see, and watch more!

I can’t imagine what Jennalyn’s music sounded like in 2017 as an alternative musician. I’m not saying that as a way to potentially degrade my expectations, it’s just how can you top such a bold and well-made dark pop masterpiece?

In my opinion, I think switching things up for her next release wouldn’t be a bad idea. Jennalyn has shown that she can definitely do this, so why not do it again?

I would like to thank Jennalyn for the pictures, I absolutely admire her content and I can’t wait to see and hear what she’s got coming up next. She is definitely a stunning talent to watch in the music industry.
